Implicit Biases

Q Do you think you can be completely objective/non-discriminatory in hiring? In other words, you will not let any personal factors affect your judgment of a candidate? Please take the Implicit Association Test (link on Canvas; you can pick one category, or try multiple categories). Do you think the IAT is accurate? What do you think the test is meant to show?

I think the test's main aim is to make the person aware of the various terms that we are still unaware of. I believe to be non-discriminatory in hiring. In my personal view, my hiring process would not be affected by the person's class, gender, or age. My decision would not be based on any of my personal factors. I feel that the IAT is somewhat in the middle as in some of the questions, it was very difficult to answer, and it made me think twice or thrice for the question. Sometimes, it showed strength in some of the categories, but I was confused in some parts.
